Japan is a unique country for the Valentine’s Day celebration in which mainly females give chocolate to males and one month later, on March 14 called White Day, females receive white chocolate from the males’ whey they were given on Valentine’s Day.
There are a few types of chocolate-
-the giri-choco (義理チョコ) which is defined as “the obligation chocolate”, given to all males at school or work.
-the tomo-choco (友チョコ) which is defined as “the friend’s chocolate”, given to friends you care about.
-the honmei-choco (本命チョコ), which is defined as “the beloved chocolate”, given to the one you are in love with.
